Aller se poser avec un Cessna à Los Angeles International (KLAX), ça vous dirait ? J’y ai bien pensé… et plus d’une fois. Los Angeles ou San Francisco. Forcément, en volant aux US avec Marc-Olivier, ce genre de challenge revient régulièrement : “on y va ?”

Mais j’ai toujours trouvé cela trop compliqué pour moi… On est au USA donc la question de savoir si c’est autorisé ne vient même pas à l’esprit. C’est plutôt le droit à l’erreur qui n’est pas permis à vouloir se frotter à des choses peut-être trop compliqué pour son niveau. Après les premiers vols et émerveillements en volant là-bas, on ne s’étonne plus de rien. Aux Etats-Unis ce genre de truc ne choque personne. Faut juste être à la hauteur. Juste.

Donc, lui (cf. vidéo ci-dessus) il l’a fait. Au départ de Gillespie (oui, Gillepsie marche aussi ;-) et en IFR, mais bien à bord d’un petit Cessna. La taxe/frais de FBO a été ramené à 50$ (au lieu des 150$) certainement dû au fait qu’il ne s’agit que d’un Cessna. Sortie à Hamburg à prévoir pour voir ce truc de fou !

Je sais à peine où est Hamburg ;-) Mais j’ai découvert grâce à la PilotList (merci Airy Millet), une attraction étonnante : Miniatur Wunderland. Une raison d’y faire un Fly’In ?

 

La visite de cette exposition permanente doit valoir le coup pour explorer une gigantesque maquette de train : plus de 9 km de voie, 700 trains, 10.400 wagons, 200.000 lumières, 40.000 heures de construction. Un aéroport… en miniature

Mais, puisqu’on est sur un blog aéronautique, le Miniatur Wunderland développe la reproduction d’un aéroport avec le mouvement, calqué au plus près du réel, des trafics taxiant, décollant et atterrissant… le tout sous forme de maquette ! Le soucis du détail est incroyable pour une maquette à ce stade de la réalisation : led pour les feux, atténuation progressive de l’extinciton des feux de taxi, balisage de pistes, effets sonore...

L’ouverture est prévue pour début 2011, de l’aveux du chef de projet, et plus d’une vingtaine de vidéos sur Youtube laissent présager d’une réalisation totalement exceptionnelle.
