Software and configuration

Usage: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 for VFR flights. Main aircraft is Cessna 172 classic (WB-SIM C172 and the N4975F replica texture) in Southern California (with my own sceneries) and France region. Ipad tablet with Foreflight and Skydemon connected to MSFS with FS2FF. Windows 10 Pro.

  • Flight Simulator: Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) installed in its own dedicated SSD. The Community folder is managed with Addon manager) for mods on several NVME and SSD to split drive load access. 
  • MSFS configuration (variable following MSFS evolutions)
    • Anti-aliasing: DLSS/Auto,
    • Vsync: ON, Frame Rate Limit: 50% refresh rate (30fpt)
    • DirectX 11. But only since SU11, was previously DX12 as better better stability for scenery development
    • Global Rendering Quality: High-End (except Motion Blur: OFF)
    • Rolling Cache Settings: OFF
  • Community folder managed with MSFS Addons Linker.
  • Generic Airport texture enhancer: REX Real Global Airport Textures.
  • Global Season: REX Accuseason.
  • Live Traffic : FSLTL (previously Alpha India Group AIG)

  • June'20: add a SSD 1 To (Samsung 860 EVO) for MSFS FS2020 and Track v5 (replace my v4 hardware)

  • Main MSFS configuration (Dec'20) : preset Graphic settings: HIGH except "SHARPEN 0" set manually into C:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\UserCfg.opt.
  • Main MSFS usage: VFR, slow&low with Cessna 172 classic (with the N4975F replica texture) in US west coast
