My PC settings for MSFS2024 (Sept'25) AMD 9800x3D + nVidia RTX 5070ti

 

Last update: 28/09/25 with MSFS2024 SU4 Beta 1.6.7

After replacing my RTX 3080 10Gb with a new RTX 5070ti 16Gb, I have replaced my CPU/MotherBoard/RAM with these components:

• CPU: AMD 9800x3D + ventirad ThermalRight PA120 (Peerless Assassin 120 SE),
• Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B650E-F Gaming Wifi,
• RAM: 64Gb (2x32Gb) Corsair Vengeance 6000Mhz CL30 AMD Expo

Warning: the settings described below fit my MSFS usage and  my PC configuration (check the full hardware configuration here). They may work or not work (at all) for your own usage and your configuration. This post is a memo for myself ;) With these, I get a steady 60 fps with FSLTL AI or AIG generated trafic and mostly all in ULTRA. 

BIOS

• Resizable Bar: OFF
• AMD Expo: ON
• PBO: ON

Resizable Bar OFF save me between 1Gb and 1.5Gb of VRAM. It seems not impacted my overall performance. To be monitored

Windows

Uninstall nvidia audio drivers (via Windows settings uninstall apps). It appeared I had stutters and noise crackling when the two audio drivers were actived (sonic mother audio embedded card and the nvidia audio HDMI). The crackling was intensed on the new AMD+Asus B650 motherboard. I had to disable a lot of devices I'm not using:

1. Disable all useless playback device (Control Panel - Sound - Playback) : monitor, digital audio, digital output, sonic studio virtual mixer…). Keep only my headphones and Speakers.
   
   
   

   
   
2. Disable audio Enhancements from Speakers Properties (advanced tab)
   
   
   
   
   
3. Disable all useless devices from the motherboard via the Windows Device Manager: Realtek Audio Effects Components (USB), AMD Radeon™ Graphics, Mediatek Wi-Fi, nvidia virtual audio device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)

nVidia App

Parameters for MSFS2024 in NVIDIA App (Graphics - MSFS2024 - Driver Settings) :

• DLSS Override - Model Presets : Use different settings for each DLSS technology, Frame Generation: Latest, Super Resolution : Preset K. This makes DLSS Swapper useless.
• Max Frame Rate: 60 FPS
• Power Management Mode: Prefer maximum performance
• Vertical Sync: ON

NVIDIA App,  Driver Settings.

Remark:

• NVIDIA app settings Settings - Automatically optimize newly added games and apps: OFF
• NVIDIA app 11.0.5.245
• NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 581.29

MSFS Settings Graphic

• Anti-aliasing: NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution
• NVIDIA DLSS super resolution: DLAA
• Frame Generation: NVIDIA DLSS
• (new in SU3) Max Frame rate : 30. If you're with SU2 do it via the config file UserCfg.opt.

Global Rendering Quality set to ULTRA, except:

• Motion Blur: OFF (I dislike the visual effet)
• Traffic Airport Quality: OFF (all traffic are managed by FSLTL or AIG)
• Air Traffic: LOW for the "Offline Only" because of GAmod 2024 (all other AI traffic are managed by FSLTL or AIG)
• Road Traffic: ULTRA
• Sea Traffic: MEDIUM
• Fauna: ULTRA

The Terrain Level of Detail (TLOD) and Objects Level of Detail (OLOD) are managed dynamically with MSFS_AutoFPS by ResetXPDR (latest test version here and public version here). After takeoff, the TLOD is steady at 300, Clouds on ULTRA, OLOD 150. The Method useds is FPS Sensitivity

(only if before SU3) MSFS Configuration file, manual edit "UserCfg.opt"

• Frame Limiter 30 (instead of nothing/zero)

This parameter appears from SU2 Beta 1.4.13 (source). With this "Frame Limiter 30", MSFS generates a maximum of 30 FPS (including in menu ;) ) then the nvidia driver, with the Frame Generation feature, double the FPS - with the Frame Generation feature - to display a 60 FPS on screen. Location of the UserCfg.opt file: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

3 vidéos avec enregistrement radio com de mon vol d'hier: des atteros vent de travers.

L'envie de se vider la tête, un Robin DR400 de dispo, du vent de travers et nous voilà partis pour un vol d'entrainement. Départ en 07R de Toussus-Le-Noble (LFPN) (ou Paris Saclay Versailles), 3 x tours de piste à Etampes et le retour pour retrouver la parallèle 07L.

En retournant au parking après mettre posé en 07L et voulant passer par "la ligne des 20" pour raccourcir le temps roulage, un Pilatus PC-24 était stationné, moteurs allumés:

• PCIEX16_2 Configuration: PCIEX16_2 X4 (the maximum available and not Auto)

This help reducing Windows stutters and stop the Bus Interface Load constantly at 100% even when at idle on the Windows desktop.

Encore du vent de travers mais cette fois-ci en 29L

Bon exercice hier en revenant de tours de piste à Rouen. Le vent est du Nord - Nord Ouest et les 29 sont en services. Pour une fois, j'ai pensé à anticiper le dernier virage pour ne pas overshooter ;)
